Dragon Slaying

Inspired by Matthew McConaughey's story of training out in West Texas to play the part of a slayer of dragons in an upcoming film, we decided to pursue our own variation of dragon slaying training. The only thing we didn't do was wrestle a bear.

Tequila

Two shots each morning before breakfast.

Barefoot Hiking

3.5 miles to the top of Emory Peak and back.

Heights

Sheer drops all around at the top of Emory Peak.

Spooky Campsite

After a full day of immaculate weather, a full moon appeared, the clouds rolled in, the temperature dropped, and the rain began to fall.

The Hike Down

Walking back down in the cold morning air, level with the clouds as they roll in from the peaks to fill the valleys. No telling how high up we were...

Return to Civilization

We rewarded ourselves with some hot springs action, which felt so good with the cold weather upon us. Spirits were up the whole weekend even as we drove back to Austin, and to top it off we stopped to get some absolutely killer barbeque at Cooper's in Llano. All around incredible weekend with incredible people!
