In late May, a narrow strip of beach and not another soul in sight. Calm, icy water, soft, warm sand, and two sailboats gently gliding out on the lake. Ian the park ranger used to be a professional musician, and even lived in Austin for a couple of years.

A wonderful grove of trees tower over soft, green grass, offering shade and comfort. Islands and mountains rise up from the water as you look out at the lake from the sandy beach.

Rattlesnake point looms tall over the lake, watching over the park as families lay out their blankets and set up their chairs in the sun and in the shade, on grass that is still green on this mid summers day, to look out at the water and watch the kids play.
